Improving Indigenous Outcomes
Indigenous engagement is embedded within our delivery model for all projects. We are committed to genuine local economic participation, supported by an extensive network of SME and Indigenous suppliers nationwide. We engage local subcontractors early, unbundle trade packages to align with regional capabilities, and provide mentoring to help businesses meet Defence quality and safety requirements. This proactive approach strengthens regional supply chains and builds enduring local industry capability.
Internally, we prioritise the development of Indigenous talent through a strong training culture, focused on “growing our own” by via structured cadetships, apprenticeships, mentoring pathways, and on-the-job development programs. We support Indigenous employees to build sustainable and rewarding careers within the construction and infrastructure sectors. We also actively support Indigenous students, in the regions where we operate, to access tertiary education and transition into meaningful employment. Our approach is focused on outcomes and ensuring that education and training pathways lead to long-term roles within our projects and the broader industry. In doing so, we strengthen workforce capability while creating lasting opportunities for individuals, families, and communities.
As a Supply Nation–registered organisation, we uphold our values of inclusion and fairness on all projects, and remain focused on delivering real outcomes through employment, training, and business opportunities to help Indigenous communities thrive.
